My contract work with hi-tech companies typically precludes any usage of AI. But personally, yes, if I need to quickly get up to speed on technically complex subject matter, I ask Chat GPT to explain it to me like I’m five. I don’t recommend the use of AI to produce content, because the result is still often generic and weirdly atonal – and more effort than it’s worth to fix.

Generally not. Of course there is always a learning curve associated with new subject material, but I get up to speed quicker than you’d expect. That said, if I sense you would benefit more from the services of a technical expert than a writing expert, I’ll make that recommendation.
